.us domain registration from Pakistan
.us is the country domain of the United States. Today it is run by Registry Services, LLC (GoDaddy Registry) on behalf of the US Department of Commerce, and in October 2026 the government named Identity Digital as the next administrator. It is a restricted extension: every registrant must show a real link to the US, called "Nexus", so a Pakistani buyer usually needs regular US customers, a US office, or US citizenship or residency before we can file the name.
Price and how to order
Loading the current .us price…
Search any name on the availability checker, or go straight to the order form. We confirm availability before registering, you pay in rupees by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa, and the domain is registered in your own name.
Who uses .us
- Pakistani exporters with regular US buyers
- Software houses and freelancers invoicing US clients
- Overseas Pakistanis who are US citizens or green card holders
- Pakistani-owned companies with a US LLC or office
- US-focused e-commerce and dropshipping brands
.us makes sense for a Pakistani business whose customers are in the United States and who can prove it. A Sialkot surgical-goods or sports-goods exporter that invoices US retailers can register under category 3 and keep a bill of sale with a US buyer on file for a Nexus check; a Lahore or Karachi software house that has set up a US LLC qualifies as a US entity. If you have no US sales, office, citizenship or residency, we will say so and suggest .com or .pk instead. When you do qualify, we confirm the name is free, register it in your own name with your Nexus category, take payment in rupees by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa, and aim to file the same working day the payment lands.
Eligibility and rules
Who may register: Restricted. You must fit one of three Nexus categories: (1) a natural person who is a US citizen, a US permanent resident, or whose main home is in the US; (2) an entity formed under the law of a US state, DC or a US territory, including US government bodies and non-profits; or (3) a foreign person or organisation with a bona fide presence in the US, meaning you regularly sell goods or services (or carry out other lawful activity) there, or you keep an office or other property there. A Pakistani applicant with no US citizenship or residency can qualify only under category 3 and must state their country of citizenship at registration.
- Nexus is mandatory and ongoing. At registration you certify which category you fall under; WHOIS shows it as a code (C11 US citizen, C12 permanent resident, C21 US entity, C31 foreign entity doing regular business in the US, C32 foreign entity with a US office). If the certification or category is left blank the registration is rejected; if the Nexus details fail, the name goes on a 30-day hold and is then cancelled with no refund.
- The registry runs spot checks. If your name is picked you must reply in writing with documents. For category 3 the accepted evidence is a bill of sale naming your business and a US buyer, or, if you have a US address, a deed, lease or other official document showing that address and dated within the last two years. Category 1 needs a US passport, birth certificate or green card; category 2 needs a deed, lease, tax ID or similar with the entity's US address, also from within the last two years.
- No WHOIS privacy or proxy. The registry's Privacy Services Policy prohibits anonymous or proxy registrations, the FAQ says privatised registrations are not permitted, and the registry runs a detection algorithm. Your real name and contact details appear in public WHOIS, so register in the name of the person or company that actually meets Nexus.
- Term is 1 to 10 years. The registry's policies refer to one-year through ten-year registrations, and a registrar transfer adds one year but can never push the unexpired term past ten years.
- New registrations have a 5-day add grace period during which a registrar can delete for credit. The registry's public policies do not publish a redemption or restore window after expiry, so ask us before letting a name lapse.
- Transfers: a .us name cannot move to another registrar within 60 days of creation or within 60 days of a previous transfer, and a change of registrant triggers a further 60-day lock unless you opt out beforehand. The gaining registrar needs an AuthInfo code of 6 to 16 characters, which your current registrar must give you on request.
- No IDN: .us does not currently offer internationalised (Urdu or other non-Latin script) names. Reserved names include all-number names of five or more digits, US zip-code and telephone-number formats, and names with hyphens in the third and fourth positions.
Questions about .us
Can I register a .us domain from Pakistan?
Only if you meet the Nexus rule. A Pakistani citizen living in Pakistan qualifies under category 3 if they regularly sell goods or services in the US or keep an office or property there. Without that, or without US citizenship or residency, the registry's rules do not allow it.
What documents will I need for a .us domain?
Nothing is uploaded at the time of filing; you certify your Nexus category and your country of citizenship. If the registry later picks your name for a spot check, a Pakistani business must send a bill of sale naming a US buyer, or a lease, deed or official document showing a US address dated within the last two years. A CNIC or SECP certificate on its own does not prove a US link.
Can I hide my name and address in .us WHOIS?
No. The registry bans privacy and proxy services on .us and runs a detection algorithm to catch them. Your real registrant details are public, which is one reason we always register the name in your own name.
How many years can I register .us for?
From one year up to ten years. Renewals and transfers can extend the name, but the total unexpired term can never go past ten years.
What happens if I fail a Nexus check?
At registration, a missing certification or category means the filing is rejected, and failed Nexus details put the name on a 30-day hold; if it is not fixed the name is cancelled and the fee is not refunded. For later spot checks you must reply in writing with evidence, so keep your US invoices or lease handy.
Can I transfer or recover a .us domain?
Transfers to another registrar are blocked for 60 days after registration, after a previous transfer, and after a change of registrant (unless you opted out). The registry does not publish a redemption window for expired names, so renew on time; if a name has lapsed, message us and we will check with the registrar what can still be done.
