.ai domain registration from Pakistan
.ai is the country code domain of Anguilla, a small island in the Caribbean. The Government of Anguilla manages it, and since January 2025 the technical back end has been run by Identity Digital. Because the two letters spell "AI", it has become a popular choice for artificial intelligence startups and tools, and anyone in Pakistan can register one.
Price and how to order
Loading the current .ai price…
Search any name on the availability checker, or go straight to the order form. We confirm availability before registering, you pay in rupees by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa, and the domain is registered in your own name.
Who uses .ai
- AI and machine-learning startups
- Software houses building AI tools
- SaaS products, chatbots and automation apps
- Data science consultants and freelancers
- Tech brands wanting a short, modern name
If you are building an AI product in Pakistan, .ai tells the visitor what you do before they read a word. Say a Lahore team launches an Urdu speech-to-text tool: a short .ai name carries the message better than a long .com with "pk" or "tech" bolted on. We file the name in your own name, you pay us in rupees by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa, no Anguilla address or SECP paper is needed, and you should budget for the two-year minimum up front.
Eligibility and rules
Who may register: Open to anyone, anywhere
- Two-year minimum: a new .ai registration and every renewal must be for at least two years, and a term can run up to ten years. The registry's own site does not publish the term; this comes from registrar policy pages (Enom, OpenSRS, Dynadot, Porkbun, AWS Route 53), which agree with each other.
- Names may use the letters a to z, digits 0 to 9 and hyphens, up to 63 characters, and a hyphen may not start or end the name. Internationalised (non-Latin) names are not supported, so an Urdu-script .ai name is not possible. The minimum length is set by each registrar, not published by the registry.
- No residency, local presence or business requirement is listed by any registrar. What you give is accurate registrant, admin and technical contact details, which go on the public registry (WHOIS) record.
- Privacy and proxy services are permitted by the registry (nic.ai FAQ), so your personal details need not show in public WHOIS if your registrar offers the service.
- A transfer between registrars needs the domain's authorisation (EPP) code and adds two years to the expiry date, a change that took effect on 15 January 2025 when Identity Digital took over.
- Disputes follow ICANN's UDRP through an approved provider; the registry FAQ points to WIPO. The Government of Anguilla may suspend, lock or cancel a name used for malware, phishing, spam or other abuse listed in the registry FAQ.
Questions about .ai
Can a person or company in Pakistan register a .ai domain?
Yes. Registrars list no residency or business rule. You do not need an Anguilla address, a CNIC copy or SECP papers. What is needed is accurate contact details, which we file in your name.
Can I register a .ai domain for one year?
No. Registrars apply a two-year minimum for both new registrations and renewals, which they describe as a registry rule. You can choose any term from two up to ten years.
Is .ai only for artificial intelligence companies?
No. It is Anguilla's country code domain and is open to any lawful use. Many registrations today are AI-related, but that is a trend, not a rule.
What details do you need from me to file a .ai domain?
Your full name or company name, postal address, email and phone number. These go into the registry record in your name. The registry allows privacy or proxy services, so the details need not be public.
What happens if I miss the renewal date?
Do not rely on a long grace window; how long your registrar holds an expired name varies (30 to 45 days is typical). After that the name is deleted and enters a 30-day redemption period. Restoring it costs a restore fee plus a renewal, and after that window the name is released to anyone. Renew early.
Can I use Urdu or other non-English characters in a .ai name?
No. .ai names use the letters a to z, digits 0 to 9 and hyphens only, up to 63 characters. Internationalised (IDN) names are not supported.
How much does a .ai domain cost in rupees?
The registry does not publish a public price; each registrar sets its own. Check our price list at /pricing/ or message us on WhatsApp for a rupee quote. Remember the quote covers a minimum of two years.
