Domain price in Pakistan (2026): what you really pay

Domain price in Pakistan depends on the extension. From 1 August 2026 the PKNIC registry charges Rs 2,100 per year for .pk names owned by people in Pakistan, billed two years at a time, so Rs 4,200 is the registry fee for a two-year .pk. A .com is priced from a dollar wholesale fee, and public Pakistani reseller pages we checked showed roughly Rs 2,900 to Rs 5,200 for the first year, with renewal often higher.

Domain price in Pakistan by extension

Two families of domains matter here: Pakistani ones (.pk, .com.pk) and global ones (.com, .net, .org). They are priced differently, so compare like with like.

Pakistani names are priced by the registry in rupees. Global names start from a dollar fee, so the rupee figure moves with the exchange rate.

  • Pakistani registrant, .pk: Rs 2,100 per year from 1 August 2026 (was Rs 1,800), billed two years at a time, so Rs 4,200 for the first two years at the registry fee.
  • Registrant outside Pakistan: USD 15.99 per year.
  • Global names such as .com: the registry's wholesale fee is USD 10.26 today and rises to USD 10.97 on 1 November 2026. A seller adds their own margin on top.

Domain charges in Pakistan for .pk and .com.pk

PKNIC bills .pk and .com.pk in two-year blocks and allows up to ten years at once. That is why a Pakistani domain page often shows a two-year total rather than a yearly price.

Names directly under .pk need at least four characters. The owner name is fixed when the domain is registered, so make sure it is your own name or your business name from day one.

Older reseller pages we read showed very different figures. One, from December 2024, listed .pk at Rs 3,199 for two years. Another, from October 2025, listed Rs 3,899 per year. Both came out before the August 2026 registry change, so treat them as history, not today's price. Compare any quote against the Rs 2,100 per year registry fee.

Website domain price in Pakistan for .com, .net and .org

Global extensions are sold by the year. Public pages from Pakistani resellers showed a .com at about Rs 2,900 to Rs 5,200 for the first year. A .net or .org came to about Rs 3,700 to Rs 5,400.

These are ranges from public pages, not offers. Some pages were a year or more old, and one gave only an estimate, with the final rupee amount worked out at checkout. Your real price depends on the day, the exchange rate and the seller.

The wholesale fee is only part of the story. Card fees, currency conversion and the seller's margin are added before you see the rupee total.

Why one domain name price in Pakistan differs between sellers

The registry fee is the same for every seller of that extension. The gap comes from what each seller adds or leaves out.

Here are the usual reasons two quotes for the same name do not match:

  • Margin: each seller sets their own mark-up on the wholesale fee.
  • Exchange rate: a dollar price is converted on the day, and sellers pick different rates.
  • Bundles: some include privacy or DNS, others charge for them.
  • Term: a two-year .pk total looks twice as expensive as a one-year .com unless you divide it.
  • Promotions: a low first year can be paid back through a higher renewal.
  • Ownership: some sellers register the name in their own name, some in yours. Ask which.

Cheap domain in Pakistan: first-year promo versus renewal

A low price domain in Pakistan is easy to find for year one. The question is what you pay in year two. One reseller page we read showed a .com at Rs 2,899 for the first year and Rs 3,999 to renew. Another estimated .com renewal at about Rs 3,900 to Rs 5,900 and warned that renewals usually go back to the normal rate after a promotion.

So judge a deal on the whole life of the domain, not the first invoice. Ask for the renewal price before you pay, and write it down.

If you let a domain lapse, getting it back can cost more or may not be possible. See our guide “What a domain costs to renew, and why year two can cost more” and our guide “What happens when a .pk domain expires?” for how renewal and expiry work.

Extra costs: DNS, privacy and card tax

The Pakistani reseller pages we read did not list a fixed DNS fee, and one advertised free privacy on eligible names, including .com. Privacy is not offered for every extension, and other sellers may charge. Check the checkout page, not the headline price.

If you pay a foreign website with a Pakistani bank card, section 236Y of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001 requires the bank to collect advance tax on that payment. Non-filers pay a higher rate than filers. Published reports gave conflicting figures, and we could not confirm today's rate, so ask your bank before you pay.

Paying a Pakistani seller in rupees avoids this foreign card step. We take bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash and Easypaisa. See our guide “How to buy a domain in Pakistan with JazzCash, Easypaisa, Raast or bank transfer”.

How to judge a fair price, and where we fit

Use a short checklist. Is the domain registered in your name? Is the renewal price stated? Are DNS and privacy included or extra? Is the total in rupees, with no surprise at checkout? Can you reach a real person?

We are a small Pakistani company. We run a marketplace where owners sell existing domains with payment held in escrow, and a registration service that checks availability live and registers new names in your own name through PKNIC or a registrar. We do not sell hosting, PKNIC prepaid cards or Google Workspace, and we are not PKNIC.

Our prices are on the price list, and many are quoted on WhatsApp. Check a name at the domain search, then order at the order form. We aim to file the same working day your payment arrives. Unpaid orders cancel after 48 hours, and you get a full refund if a name is taken before we file.

Common questions

What is the domain name price in Pakistan for a .pk?

The PKNIC registry fee for a Pakistani owner is Rs 2,100 per year from 1 August 2026, billed two years at a time, so Rs 4,200 for two years. Resellers add their own margin, so check the final total.

How much is a .com domain purchase price in Pakistan?

Public Pakistani reseller pages we read showed about Rs 2,900 to Rs 5,200 for the first year. The wholesale fee is USD 10.26, rising to USD 10.97 on 1 November 2026, and the rupee price moves with the exchange rate.

Why is the renewal price higher than what I paid?

Many sellers run a low first-year promotion and charge the normal rate afterwards. One page we saw went from Rs 2,899 in year one to Rs 3,999 at renewal. Ask for the renewal price before paying.

Is a cheap domain in Pakistan safe to buy?

A low price alone tells you little. Check that the domain is registered in your name, that renewal is stated, and that you can reach the seller. See our guide “Common domain scams in Pakistan and how to avoid them” for warning signs.

Do I pay extra for DNS or privacy?

It depends on the seller. The Pakistani reseller pages we read listed no fixed DNS fee, and one offered free privacy on eligible names, but others may charge. Read the checkout page.

With us, yes. We take bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash and Easypaisa, and sales run on WhatsApp. Details are at our guide “How to buy a domain in Pakistan with JazzCash, Easypaisa, Raast or bank transfer”.
