.dev domain registration in Pakistan

.dev is a generic extension run by Google’s registry arm, Charleston Road Registry, and built for developers and technology projects. Every .dev site must load over HTTPS, so browsers refuse plain HTTP. We register .dev names for Pakistani developers, freelancers and tech teams, in your own name.

Price and how to order

Loading the current .dev price…

Search any name on the availability checker, or go straight to the order form. We confirm availability before registering, you pay in rupees by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa, and the domain is registered in your own name.

Who uses .dev

  • Software developers and freelancers who want a portfolio site
  • Web and app agencies selling technical services
  • Open source projects and API documentation sites
  • Startups and SaaS teams with a developer audience
  • Students building a CV site for jobs abroad
  • Tech bloggers and course creators

Pick .dev when your customers are developers, startups or foreign clients who judge you by your code. A freelancer on Upwork or Fiverr, a software house in Lahore or Karachi, or a student applying for jobs abroad all gain from a name that says what they do. Pick .pk or .com.pk instead when you sell to local shoppers or offices who trust a Pakistan address; see the .pk page and the .com.pk page. Pick .com for the most familiar ending for a general business; see the .com page. Our price for .dev is on the price list, or we quote it on WhatsApp +92 339 2266645. We take rupees by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa. Because .dev needs HTTPS, plan for the certificate when you build the site.

Eligibility and rules

Who may register: The registry’s .dev registration policy sets no residency, company or profession rule, so anyone can register. The one hard condition is technical: the registry calls .dev an encrypted by default namespace, and every .dev site must be served over HTTPS.

  • Open registration: the registry’s .dev registration policy has no residency, company or profession requirement.
  • HTTPS only: the registry states the whole .dev extension is on the browser HSTS preload list, so plain HTTP will not load.
  • You need a working SSL certificate before the site loads; see our guide “Free SSL certificates for your domain explained” for how this works.
  • Premium names exist: the registry’s .dev pricing policy says some names carry a higher yearly registration fee than the standard fee; see our guide “What is a premium domain, and is it worth it?”.
  • Two-letter names, and names on the IOC, Red Cross and IGO reserved lists, come with extra conditions under the registration policy.
  • Renewal can differ from the first-year price, so check both numbers on the price list before you order.
  • Local test setups that used a .dev suffix will break in modern browsers, so use .test or localhost instead.

Questions about .dev

What does .dev mean?

It is short for developer. Google’s registry arm runs it for people and teams who build software and web projects. Anyone can still register one.

Is .dev a good domain?

It is good if your work is technical. It is clear, modern and secure by design. For a local shop or a general business, .pk, .com.pk or .com may be a better fit.

Does a .dev domain need HTTPS?

Yes. The registry has placed the whole extension on the browser HSTS preload list, so browsers load .dev sites only over HTTPS. You need a working SSL certificate.

What is the .dev domain price in Pakistan?

Our price is on the price list, and we quote it on WhatsApp +92 339 2266645 if it is not listed. Some names are premium and cost more each year, and renewal can differ from the first year, so ask for both numbers.

Can I register a .dev domain from Pakistan?

Yes. We register it in your own name and you pay in rupees by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa. Check a name on the domain search.

How long can I register a .dev domain for?

Registrars list .dev terms of one to ten years. The registry’s own policy pages do not state the limit, so ask us before placing a long order.
