Three ways to get a taken name
- Wait for it to expire. Owners forget to renew more often than you would think. The watchlist catches the day it is released.
- Ask if it is for sale. Many owners will sell. Make an offer through our marketplace, where your payment is held in escrow until the domain is yours.
- Pick a close alternative. The same word on .com.pk, a short prefix, or a city name. Our name idea tool checks options instantly.
What happens when a .pk name expires
PKNIC charges for .pk names two years at a time. If the owner does not renew, PKNIC may deactivate the domain and then hold it for two weeks, during which the owner can still pay and get it back. After that the name may be offered to anyone on a first-come, first-served basis. PKNIC decides the timing, and some owners renew at the last minute, so a watched name can stay taken for a long time.
For .com and other generic extensions the path is longer: a grace period of up to about 45 days, then a 30-day redemption period, then deletion within a few days. Run a WHOIS lookup to see a name's expiry date.
We cannot reserve a taken name, force an owner to sell, or promise to get a name before anyone else when it is released. We check once a night and message you as soon as we see it free.

How often do you check?
Every night at about 2 am Pakistan time. When a watched name shows as free, we message you on WhatsApp so you can register it.
Does it cost anything?
Watching is free. If the name comes free and you want it, you pay the normal registration price.
Can you register it for me automatically when it drops?
Not yet. Registration needs your details and payment, so we message you first and register it once you confirm and pay.
How do I stop watching a name?
Message us on WhatsApp with the name and we will remove it.
