Who uses .biz

  • Small Pakistani businesses whose .com name is already taken
  • Freelancers and agencies selling services to clients abroad
  • Online sellers who want a name that says business at a glance
  • Shops and brands that want a matching name next to a .pk address

Many Pakistani businesses find the .com they want is already gone. The same name in .biz may still be free. It tells a buyer you are a business, which can help exporters, agencies and online shops. But .biz is less familiar than .com, and some customers type .com or .pk out of habit. For shops selling inside Pakistan, a .pk or .com.pk name usually feels more local. See our guide “.pk vs .com.pk vs .com: which domain should a Pakistani business pick?”. Many owners keep .com or .pk as the main name and add .biz as a backup. Watch the price, too. Registrars often run low first-year offers on .biz, and the renewal is then higher. Check our guide “What a domain costs to renew, and why year two can cost more” before you order.

Eligibility and rules

Who may register: There is no country rule, so people and companies in Pakistan can register .biz. The .biz terms that registrars pass on say the name should be used, or meant to be used, mainly for real business or commercial purposes. Holding a name only to resell or lease it does not count. A purely personal site is also outside the intended use. The registry does not ask for company papers, but when you register you confirm the name relates to your business or planned business. We register the name in your own name.
