.sa domain registration from Pakistan

.sa is the country code of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, run by SaudiNIC under the CST in Riyadh. It is a restricted extension: the registry only accepts names from people and businesses with a real Saudi link, and every name must have an administrative contact based inside the Kingdom. For a Pakistani exporter or a Pakistani-owned firm trading in Saudi Arabia, it is the web address Saudi customers recognise as local.

Price and how to order

Loading the current .sa price…

Search any name on the availability checker, or go straight to the order form. We confirm availability before registering, you pay in rupees by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa, and the domain is registered in your own name.

Who uses .sa

  • Pakistani exporters with a trademark registered in Saudi Arabia
  • Pakistani-owned companies holding a Saudi commercial registration
  • Businesses with an office or branch in Riyadh, Jeddah or Dammam
  • Saudi nationals and Premium Residency holders of Pakistani origin
  • Brands protecting their name in the Saudi market

Most Pakistani businesses will not qualify for .sa on a CNIC and an SECP certificate alone; the Saudi link has to be real and documented. A Sialkot surgical-goods exporter that has registered its brand as a trademark in Saudi Arabia, or a Karachi trading company with a Saudi commercial registration and an office in Jeddah, fits the SaudiNIC routes and gains an address Saudi buyers trust. We check your papers against those routes and confirm availability before you pay a rupee, and if you do not qualify we will tell you plainly and suggest .com or .pk instead.

Eligibility and rules

Who may register: Restricted. SaudiNIC's Registration Regulations (v5.0, Feb 2024, clause 4-1) allow only: an entity physically located in Saudi Arabia; a natural person with Saudi nationality or Premium Residency; an entity holding a registration or licence from a Saudi authority; or the owner of a trademark or trade name registered in Saudi Arabia. The administrative contact must be based in Saudi Arabia (clause 2-7), and .com.sa additionally needs a valid Saudi Commercial Registration (or equivalent) or a locally registered trade name or trademark (clause 4-3-2).

  • Name rules: a .sa label is 2 to 63 characters using letters A-Z, digits 0-9 and the hyphen; it cannot start or end with a hyphen and cannot contain two hyphens in a row (Regulation clauses 2-11 and 9-1-1). Single letters, numbers of five digits or fewer, city, region and country names, religious terms and words such as 'Ministry', 'Saudi' or 'Bank' sit on the reserved list; a request for one is rejected automatically unless the name is first taken off the list through SaudiNIC's special procedure.
  • IDN: .sa itself takes Latin (ASCII) labels only. Arabic-script names are registered under the separate Arabic extension .السعودية, which has its own label rules (Regulation clauses 2-12, 4-2 and 9-2).
  • Name must relate to the registrant: SaudiNIC's relationship criteria accept a label that matches the registrant's name (or a valid abbreviation or derivation of it), a trademark the registrant owns, or a name with a close and substantial connection to its products, services, events or activities, which the registrant must explain. An individual registering a single first or family name must add at least one digit; two or more names joined together need none. The criteria are guidelines, not a right to a name, and SaudiNIC can re-check the relationship at any time after registration.
  • Documents: the registrar collects the registrant's full name as it appears on official documents, national address, phone and email, plus proof of eligibility for a Saudi domain, proof of eligibility for the chosen extension, and proof of the link to the name. SaudiNIC can ask for more documents at any time; they must be uploaded in png, jpg, gif, tiff or pdf within the period SaudiNIC sets, and letters from international companies must be attested by a Saudi embassy (local companies by a chamber of commerce). Missing documents are grounds for suspension or deletion.
  • Transfer lock: no registrar-to-registrar transfer in the first 60 days after registration or within 60 days of the last transfer, and none if the name expires within 5 days. A transfer needs an authorisation code from the current registrar and approval from the administrative contact, and it bundles a renewal of 1 to 10 years with no other transfer fee allowed. A change of registrant is allowed under Regulation clause 13, but SaudiNIC can refuse it without approval and documents from both sides.
  • WHOIS privacy: the regulation states that certain registrant information is publicly accessible (clause 6-11) and offers no registry-level privacy. The Registrar Regulations list control over published WHOIS data only as an optional registrar service (Schedule 2-2), so it depends on the registrar used.

Questions about .sa

Can a Pakistani company register a .sa domain?

Only if it fits one of SaudiNIC's four routes: a physical presence in Saudi Arabia, a registration or licence from a Saudi authority, a trademark or trade name registered in Saudi Arabia, or a registrant who is a Saudi national or Premium Residency holder. You will also need an administrative contact based in Saudi Arabia. A Pakistani CNIC, SECP or FBR registration on its own is not enough.

What is the difference between .sa and .com.sa?

.sa is open to any eligible person or entity. .com.sa is limited to commercial entities with a valid Saudi Commercial Registration (or equivalent) or a trade name or trademark registered locally. Of the other categories, net.sa, edu.sa and med.sa need a licence from the relevant Saudi authority, org.sa is for non-profit bodies, sch.sa is for schools, pub.sa is for individuals only, and gov.sa is for government bodies, which register through the Digital Government Authority rather than a registrar.

How long can I register a .sa for?

SaudiNIC's registration procedure sets the term at not less than one year and not more than ten years. You choose the length when you file, and the same 1 to 10 year range applies when a name is renewed or moved to another registrar.

How much does a .sa domain cost in Pakistan?

SaudiNIC does not publish a public price. It charges licensed registrars a fixed fee, each registrar displays its own price to customers, and the CST may cap that retail price. We quote in rupees on our price list or on WhatsApp once we have checked you qualify, and payment is by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa.

Which documents will I be asked for?

At minimum the registrar needs your full name as it appears on official documents, a national address, phone and email, proof that you qualify under the SaudiNIC rules, proof that you qualify for the extension you chose, and proof that the name relates to your business, trade name or trademark. SaudiNIC can ask for more at any time, and letters from a company outside Saudi Arabia must be attested by a Saudi embassy.

Can I move my .sa to another registrar later?

Yes. You request an authorisation code from the current registrar, give it to the new one, and the administrative contact approves the move. Transfers are blocked for the first 60 days after registration, for 60 days after any previous transfer, and when the name is within 5 days of expiry.
