The name itself explains what you do, which helps when you sell to clients outside Pakistan. Stay with .pk or .com.pk if your customers are local and want a Pakistani address, or if you need the trust of a name tied to PKNIC. A plain .com remains the safest choice for a general shop or service business, since people type it by habit. You can also hold both: use .cloud for the product and .com.pk for the company site. Eligibility and rules

Who may register: Open to anyone. The registry's own registration policy says there are no eligibility restrictions outside the long-finished trademark sunrise phase, so no residency or business papers are needed. Contact details must be real: the registry may check them by email, SMS or phone and can suspend a name whose details are false or out of date.

• Anyone can register a .cloud name. No Pakistani company papers or local presence are needed.
• Registration runs from 1 to 10 years, and the name must be renewed before it expires.
• Use accurate registrant details. The registry may contact you directly to verify them, and can suspend or cancel a name whose details are false, incomplete or outdated.
• The registrant must be a real person or a legally recognised company, partnership or similar body.
• Some names are held back as premium. A premium name costs more to buy and can carry a different renewal price, so always check both prices before you pay.
• Names use letters a to z, digits 0 to 9 and hyphens, up to 63 characters. A name cannot start or end with a hyphen. Check the exact name on our live search first.
• The registry policy sets no minimum length beyond one character, but registrars normally ask for at least three. Very short names are usually reserved or premium, so a short name is rarely available at the standard price.
