.net domain registration in Pakistan
.net is one of the seven original generic domain endings and was first set aside for the computers of network providers. Verisign runs the registry, the same company behind .com, under an agreement with ICANN that runs to 30 June 2029. There is no residency or paperwork rule, so a person in Karachi, Lahore or Peshawar can hold a .net on the same terms as anyone else.
Price and how to order
Loading the current .net price…
Search any name on the availability checker, or go straight to the order form. We confirm availability before registering, you pay in rupees by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa, and the domain is registered in your own name.
Who uses .net
- Internet service providers and hosting firms
- Software houses and IT consultancies
- Networking and telecom businesses
- Businesses whose .com name is already taken
- Online communities and tech blogs
Many good .com names are long gone, and .net is the natural second pick for a tech or service business. A Lahore internet provider trading on a .com.pk can add the matching .net for overseas customers, and a Karachi software house can put client portals on one. We register the name in your own name through a registrar, confirm it is free before filing, take payment in rupees by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa, and aim to file the same working day your payment lands.
Eligibility and rules
Who may register: Open to anyone, anywhere. The .NET Registry Agreement sets no nationality, residency, business-type or identity rule for registrants; under ICANN's registrar agreement a registrar needs your full name, postal address, email and phone number.
- Name length and characters: a .net label can be up to 63 characters and may use letters a to z, digits 0 to 9 and hyphens. It cannot start or end with a hyphen. Labels with hyphens in the third and fourth positions are reserved unless they are valid IDN (xn--) names, and all single-character names are reserved by the registry (RFC 1035 s.2.3.1 and 2.3.4; .NET Registry Agreement Appendix 6 ss.B and C, Appendix 7 s.1.1).
- Term: initial registrations may run for up to ten years, renewals may not take the total past ten years, and a transfer to another registrar adds one year as long as the total stays within ten (.NET Registry Agreement Appendix 7 ss.2.1 to 2.3). Registry fees are charged per annual increment (Appendix 8).
- After expiry: your registrar must send reminders about a month and a week before expiry, and another within five days after it if you have not renewed. The registry then allows a 45-day auto-renew grace period, a 30-day redemption period in which the name can still be restored, and five days of pending delete before it drops (Appendix 7 ss.3.1.3, 3.1.6 and 3.3.2; ICANN Expired Registration Recovery Policy ss.2.1 and 3.1).
- Transfers: a registrar may refuse a transfer away within 60 days of the creation date or within 60 days of an earlier transfer, and a 60-day inter-registrar transfer lock follows a change of registrant unless you opt out before the change. You need the AuthInfo code from your current registrar, which it cannot withhold solely over a payment dispute (ICANN Transfer Policy, 21 February 2024 version, ss.I.A.3.7, I.A.3.8, I.A.5.4 and II.C.2). ICANN's Board adopted a revised Transfer Policy on 7 June 2026 but has set no date for it to take effect, so these rules still apply.
- WHOIS/RDAP privacy: under ICANN's Registration Data Policy, effective 21 August 2025, your name, street, postal code, phone and email are redacted in public lookups. Your country and state or province are published, your organisation name only if you agree, and your city may be hidden (Policy ss.9.1.4, 9.1.5, 9.2.2 and 9.2.6). You must keep your contact details accurate and update them within seven days of a change, and ignoring a registrar's accuracy query for more than fifteen days can get the name suspended (2013 RAA ss.3.7.7.1 and 3.7.7.2).
- Registry wholesale fee: Verisign's Form 8-K filed with the SEC on 27 August 2026 states the registry-level wholesale price for new and renewal .net names rises from US$10.91 to US$12.00 on 1 March 2027, within the 10 percent yearly cap in s.7.3(a) of the ICANN agreement. This is what registrars pay Verisign, not a retail price; ICANN fees and the registrar's margin sit on top, and our rupee prices are on /pricing/.
Questions about .net
Can a Pakistani individual register a .net domain?
Yes. The registry agreement between Verisign and ICANN sets no nationality or residency rule. You give a full name, postal address, email and phone number; the registry asks for no CNIC, SECP or FBR document.
How long can I register a .net for?
From one year up to ten years in total, including renewals. Registry fees are counted per year, and a transfer adds one year to the term as long as the total stays within ten years.
What happens if my .net expires?
Your registrar must remind you before expiry. After it lapses there is a 45-day auto-renew grace window, then a 30-day redemption period where the registrar's published restore fee applies, then five days of pending delete. After that anyone can register it.
Can I transfer my .net to or from another registrar?
Yes, with the AuthInfo code from the current registrar. A transfer can be refused in the first 60 days after registration or after an earlier transfer, and a 60-day lock applies after a change of registrant unless you opted out beforehand.
Does .net support Urdu or Arabic names?
The .NET Registry Agreement allows IDN (xn--) names, and Verisign's registry rules accept them under IDNA2008 with a three-letter language tag. Arabic script is listed, and Farsi is a named language, but Urdu is not in Verisign's language table, so ask us on WhatsApp before you settle on an Urdu name.
How much does a .net cost in Pakistan?
Our rupee price is on the price list at /pricing/; if it is not listed we quote on WhatsApp. For reference, Verisign's wholesale fee to registrars is US$10.91 per year, rising to US$12.00 on 1 March 2027 according to its 27 August 2026 SEC filing; registrars add ICANN fees and their own margin.
