.de domain registration in Pakistan
.de is the country code for Germany and is run by DENIC eG, a cooperative based in Frankfurt am Main. With more than 18 million names it is the largest country extension with a clear geographic focus, and Google treats a country code like .de as a strong signal that a site is meant for that country. Anyone with legal capacity can hold one, so a person or company in Pakistan can register a .de name in their own name through us.
Price and how to order
Loading the current .de price…
Search any name on the availability checker, or go straight to the order form. We confirm availability before registering, you pay in rupees by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa, and the domain is registered in your own name.
Who uses .de
- Pakistani exporters selling to German buyers
- Software houses with clients in Germany
- Pakistanis living or studying in Germany
- Overseas Pakistani families with ties to Germany
- Brands protecting their name in the German market
A .de name tells a German customer that you take their market seriously. A Sialkot sports-goods exporter or a Lahore software house that bills clients in Germany can run a German-language site on a .de name while keeping its .pk or .com for the rest of the world. Because DENIC checks that your name servers are working before it delegates the name, and may later ask your registrar to verify your name and address, give us your exact CNIC or SECP name and a street address when you order. We confirm the name is free, register it in your own name through a registrar, and aim to file on the same working day your rupee payment arrives by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa.
Eligibility and rules
Who may register: Open to anyone, anywhere: DENIC's FAQ for applicants says individuals or institutions with legal capacity may register even if they are not located in Germany. One condition applies after registration: under section 3(4) of the DENIC Domain Terms, a holder not domiciled in Germany must, within two weeks of a request from DENIC, name a representative in Germany with a full postal address (a PO box is not enough) to receive official and court documents.
- Length: 1 to 63 characters before the .de. For names with special letters the 63 limit is counted on the punycode (ACE) form (DENIC Domain Guidelines, section V(2)).
- Characters: letters a to z, digits 0 to 9 and hyphens; upper and lower case are treated the same; a name may not start or end with a hyphen, nor have hyphens in both the third and fourth positions (Guidelines, section V(1)).
- IDN: 93 additional Latin letters are allowed, including the German umlauts (ä, ö, ü) and the sharp s (ß). Only Latin script is accepted, so lookalike characters from Cyrillic, Greek or other scripts are refused (DENIC IDN FAQ; Guidelines Annex).
- Holder data and verification: DENIC records the holder's full name (for a company, with its legal form), a street address (a PO box alone is not enough), an e-mail address and a phone number; since May 2018 it no longer records an Admin-C (Guidelines, section VI; DENIC General FAQ). No ID is uploaded at registration, but under NIS-2 and the German BSI Act DENIC checks holder data for completeness and plausibility and compares addresses with external sources. If it cannot confirm the data, your registrar is asked to verify it, which can mean showing an ID card or passport, documents or a video or postal check. DENIC's deadlines are 5 days (the domain is taken offline the day after) or 76 days (the contract is ended and the name released). This applies to new and existing domains (DENIC holder data verification pages).
- Name servers must work first: before DENIC delegates a .de name it checks for at least two reachable name servers that answer authoritatively for the zone, at least one on IPv4, and at least one with an IP address not shared by the others (DENIC predelegation check, section 2.1). As an alternative, NSentry lets up to five A, AAAA or MX records sit directly in the .de zone with no name servers of your own (DENIC name server and NSentry page). When an application goes through a DENIC member, the contract ends automatically if the technical set-up is not completed within four weeks (Guidelines, section IV(2)).
- Deletion, transfer and WHOIS: a deleted name enters a Redemption Grace Period that runs until the 31st day after registration ended, during which only the last holder (or someone they name) can restore it; a provider change uses an AuthInfo password that is valid for 30 days and can be used once; DENIC publishes no fixed transfer-lock period; individual holders' details are not shown in the public WHOIS, while company holders' details are (Guidelines, sections III(3) to III(5) and VII(3); Domain Terms, section 1(4)).
Questions about .de
Can I register a .de domain from Pakistan?
Yes. DENIC states that any person or institution with legal capacity may hold a .de name, even if they are not in Germany. We register it in your name, with your Pakistani street address, through a registrar.
Do I need a German address or a local contact?
Not to register. The German administrative contact (Admin-C) was dropped in May 2018. However, if DENIC later asks, a holder outside Germany must name a representative with a full street address in Germany within two weeks so that official or court papers can be served.
How long is a .de registration?
The contract with DENIC has no fixed end date; it runs until the holder or DENIC ends it. DENIC's own direct service invoices one year in advance, and registrars set their own billing periods. We will tell you on WhatsApp how renewals work for your order.
Can I use German letters such as ü or ß in the name?
Yes. DENIC allows 93 extra Latin letters, including the umlauts and the sharp s. The 63-character limit is counted on the punycode form. DENIC warns that some software still turns ß into ss, so straße.de may open strasse.de; we suggest checking whether both spellings are free before you decide.
What happens if the domain expires or is deleted?
A deleted .de name goes into a Redemption Grace Period that lasts until the 31st day after the registration ended. During that time only the previous holder, or a person they name, can get it back. After that it is open to anyone, so do not let a name lapse to move it elsewhere; use an AuthInfo transfer instead.
Do I need hosting before I can register?
You need working DNS. DENIC checks that at least two reachable, authoritative name servers exist, at least one on IPv4, before it delegates the name. If you have no name servers yet, DENIC's NSentry option can hold up to five A, AAAA or MX records directly in the .de zone instead. If the set-up is not completed within four weeks of applying through a provider, the contract ends. Tell us your hosting plan when you order.
