Domain transfer: move your domain to us

Keep every domain in one place and pay for renewals in rupees. Check your domain is ready to move, send a request, and we handle the transfer with you on WhatsApp.

How a transfer works

  1. Unlock it. At your current registrar, switch off the transfer lock (sometimes called registrar lock).
  2. Get the transfer code. Your current registrar gives an authorisation code, also called an EPP or auth code. Keep it private.
  3. Request and pay. Send the form above. We confirm the price on WhatsApp; you pay in rupees by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa.
  4. We move it. We start the transfer with the code. Your old registrar may email you to approve it. Most generic domains finish within about five to seven days.

What stays the same

Your website and email keep working during a transfer, because the nameservers and DNS records come with the domain. The registrant stays you. For .com and most generic extensions a transfer also adds a year to the registration, so you lose no time you have already paid for.

Transferring a .pk or .com.pk

PKNIC does not use transfer codes. Moving a .pk to a new account or partner is done by PKNIC on paper, with signed documents from the registrant. Our step-by-step .pk transfer guide explains it, and you can still send the form above so we can help with the paperwork.

A domain cannot move in the first 60 days after it was registered or last transferred, and not while it is expired or locked. The check above tells you if any of these apply.

Common questions

How much does a transfer cost?

See our guide “Domain transfer fee and time: what to expect” for how transfer fees work in general. It depends on the extension. Where a transfer price is set it appears on the price list; otherwise we quote it on WhatsApp before you pay. For .com and most generic domains the fee includes a one-year extension.

Will my website go down?

No. The domain keeps its nameservers and records while it moves, so the website and email keep working.

Why can't I transfer a domain I registered last month?

Registries block transfers for 60 days after a domain is registered or transferred. You can request the move once that period ends.

Is it safe to send the transfer code on WhatsApp?

Send it only to our number, only after we have confirmed your order, and never post it publicly. Anyone with the code and an unlocked domain could try to move it.
