Traffic rank checker
See where a website ranks among the most visited sites in the world, using the Tranco research list, with how its position moved over the last 30 days.
What the number means
Tranco is a ranking of about one million popular websites, built by university researchers from several traffic sources and averaged over 30 days so it is hard to game. Rank 1 is the most visited site in the world. A smaller number means more visitors.
- Not listed means the site is outside the top million worldwide. That is true of most small business sites, including good ones.
- A rank is not a visitor count. Nobody can turn rank 50,000 into an exact number of visits, and small movements mean little.
- It is worldwide. A site that is popular only in Pakistan can rank lower than its local importance suggests.
Using it when buying a domain
If a seller claims a domain "already gets traffic", a Tranco rank is one independent check. No rank does not prove the claim false, but a listed rank supports it. Combine it with a WHOIS lookup for the domain's age, and read how domains are valued before making an offer.

Common questions
Is a higher or a lower number better?
Lower is better. Rank 1 is the most visited website in the world.
Why does my site have no rank?
The list covers about the top million sites worldwide. Most small and new sites are not in it, which says nothing bad about them.
What happened to Alexa rank?
Amazon closed Alexa's ranking service in 2022. Tranco is a free research list that many people now use instead.
