A .net.pk name tells customers you are a Pakistani network or technology business before they open the site. Take a fibre contractor in Faisalabad or a small hosting firm in Karachi: the .com.pk version of its name is often gone, while the .net.pk version is still available and still reads as local and technical. We check the name is available, register it in your own name or your company's name through PKNIC or a registrar, take payment in rupees by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa, and aim to file on the same working day the money arrives.

Eligibility and rules

Who may register: Open to anyone, anywhere. PKNIC labels .net.pk as "Network Related Business" on its domain-structure page, but its registration policy has no eligibility test or document check for this suffix, and policy section 6 says a registrant needs no local presence in Pakistan.

• Length: the part before .net.pk can be one to 63 characters, and the whole domain cannot exceed 70 characters (PKNIC domain-structure page).
• Hyphens: a name cannot start or end with a hyphen, and two hyphens in a row are not allowed because PKNIC reserves that pattern for IDN encoding. PKNIC does not list Urdu-script or other IDN names as available under .net.pk, and it does not publish the full permitted character set.
• Fixed name and locked owner: once registered, the domain name itself cannot be changed. The registrant record is kept locked. To change it, a company posts an original authority letter on letterhead under its seal, signed by the CEO, Director or Head, plus a clear copy of that person's CNIC; an individual posts an affidavit on Rs 100 stamp paper attested by an oath commissioner or notary. Scanned copies are refused, the domain must not be expired, PKNIC also verifies by phone, and it takes about three to four business days after the papers are checked.
• Term and registry fee: PKNIC bills in two-year blocks and accepts payment for up to ten years in advance. Since 1 August 2026 PKNIC's own published fee is Rs 2,100 per year for registrants based in Pakistan (up from Rs 1,800) and USD 15.99 per year where the registrant or its registrar is outside Pakistan; renewal costs the same per year as registration (pknic.net.pk/pricing.html and the Updates section of the home page). • Expiry: if the maintenance fee is unpaid by the due date, PKNIC may at its discretion de-activate the domain. The owner then has a two-week hold period to pay and re-activate it. After that PKNIC may offer the name to third parties for re-registration (PKNIC policy, section 22).
• WHOIS and registrar changes: PKNIC's policy (section 12) treats all registration information as public, and its privacy page says the WHOIS service shows whatever contact details the registrant entered on the form; PKNIC publishes no WHOIS privacy or proxy option. A move to another registrar needs original documents sent by post: for a company, written authorisation from the CEO, Director or Head plus a copy of that person's CNIC; for an individual, an attested affidavit on Rs 100 stamp paper plus a copy of the owner's CNIC. The domain must not be expired, and the transfer takes about three to four business days after verification.
