How to Choose a Domain Name for Your Salon in Pakistan

For a Pakistani salon, beauty parlour or makeup artist, pick a short brand name that clients can spell after hearing it once, and register it as a .pk, .com.pk or .com in your own name. Match your Instagram handle where you can, then point the domain to your booking page or profile. Check the exact spelling in a domain search before you print cards or paint a signboard.

Start with a name clients can say and spell

A salon name travels by mouth. A bride tells her cousin, a client tells a friend on the phone, and someone reads it off a signboard from a moving rickshaw. If the spelling is a puzzle, many of them will type it wrong and land nowhere.

Keep the name short, easy to say aloud and without odd spellings. A made-up example such as glowmeadow-studio is only an illustration and must be checked before you rely on it. Ask three people to write it down; if they differ, change it.

Avoid long names that pack your area, your services and your city into one string. They are hard to remember and awkward on a business card. Our guide to our guide “Why Short Domain Names Cost More” covers length in more detail.

  • Say it aloud and ask others to spell it
  • Avoid doubled letters and creative spellings
  • Keep it short, ideally under about 15 characters
  • Check it on the domain search before you commit

Personal name or brand name?

Many makeup artists and hair stylists work under their own name, and that is a fair choice. Clients book the person, not the shopfront. A personal name suits a freelance artist who travels to homes and venues, and it stays with you if you change premises.

A brand name suits a salon with a fixed address, a team and a plan to grow. You can add staff, open a second branch or sell the business later, and the name does not depend on one person. A brand name also lets you add services without the name feeling wrong.

A middle path works for some: register your own name as the domain, and use the salon name as the heading on the site. Whichever you choose, the registrant name on a .pk domain is fixed at registration, so use the real owner from day one. Which ending: .pk, .com.pk, .com, .beauty or .salon?

For a business serving Pakistani clients, we usually point salon owners to the .pk page, the .com.pk page or the .com page. Our price for .pk and .com.pk is Rs 4,499 for two years, with renewal at Rs 4,499. For .com it is Rs 2,199 for the first year and Rs 4,199 a year after that. Names directly under .pk need at least four characters. PKNIC lists its own fee as Rs 2,100 a year for Pakistan-based registrants from 1 August 2026, billed two years at a time.

Industry endings exist too. The IANA record names XYZ.COM LLC as the sponsor of .beauty, and an OVHcloud page describes it as open to individuals and companies anywhere. The IANA record shows .salon is managed by Binky Moon, LLC, c/o Identity Digital, and a GoDaddy help page says anyone can register it on a first-come basis. Prices differ by registrar, so check the renewal price first. Our comparison is at our guide “.pk vs .com.pk vs .com: which domain should a Pakistani business pick?”.

Match your Instagram handle

For many Pakistani salons, Instagram is the shop window. Bridal bookings often start with a photo and a direct message. So the cleanest setup is one name everywhere: the same words in your Instagram handle, your domain and your signboard.

If the exact name is taken as a domain, do not add confusing extras. Avoid stacking underscores, numbers and extra letters. Our page on our guide “Hyphens and numbers in domain names: good or bad?” explains why. A small, clear addition such as your city is usually safer than a messy variant.

Before you decide, search the handle on Instagram and the name on the bulk domain checker in the same sitting. If the domain is available but the handle is not, you can pick a close handle and put the domain in your profile link. Handle rules are set by Instagram and can change, so read them yourself.

Link the domain to Instagram or a booking page

A domain does not have to mean a full website on day one. Many small salons start by pointing the domain to their Instagram profile or to a booking page, such as a form or a WhatsApp chat link. That lets you print one clean address on cards, bills and the shop window while the real content lives elsewhere. This is a simple forwarding setting at the domain, and our team can set it up for you.

When you are ready for more, a small site with services, a price list, photos, location and a booking button gives clients something to read. Our website packages start at Rs 11,999, and our guide “Website design in Pakistan: cost and what to expect” explains what a business site needs.

You can also add an address such as bookings@yourdomain on a business mailbox. See our guide “How to set up business email on your own domain”. It looks more careful than a personal Gmail address on a bridal quotation.

Google Business Profile and checking your name

If your salon has a shop, set up a Google Business Profile so people find you on maps. Google's help page says your website should represent your individual business location, and that URLs should not send people to pages other than your actual business, including social media pages. So a domain that forwards straight to Instagram may not suit that field. Read our guide “How to add your website to Google Business Profile” before you add it.

Before buying, check the name on the domain search and look at related ideas on the name idea tool. Also search for similar salon names in your city, because a near match can confuse clients and may cause a dispute. Our guide “Check trademarks before registering a domain in Pakistan” explains what to look at.

When the name is clear, you can order at the order form or message us on WhatsApp at +92 339 5166645. We register the domain in your own name and take payment in rupees by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa.

Common questions

What is a good domain name for a salon in Pakistan?

A short, easy-to-spell brand name that matches your Instagram handle. Say it aloud to a few people, and check availability before printing anything.

Should a makeup artist use a personal name or a brand name?

A freelance artist who travels to clients can use their own name. A salon with staff, premises and growth plans is usually better served by a brand name that does not depend on one person.

Which ending should a Pakistani beauty parlour pick: .pk, .com.pk or .com?

All three are familiar to local clients. Our price is Rs 4,499 for two years on .pk and .com.pk, and Rs 2,199 for the first year on .com, renewing at Rs 4,199 a year.

Can I register a .beauty or .salon domain from Pakistan?

Registrar pages describe both as open to individuals and businesses without special requirements. Prices and renewal costs differ by registrar, so check them first.

Can I point my domain to my Instagram page?

Yes, a domain can be set to forward to your profile or a booking page. If you also use Google Business Profile, note that Google asks for a website that represents your location and says URLs should not send people to social media pages.

Do I need a website to own a salon domain?

No. You can register the name first and attach a website or a forwarding link later. Owning it early stops someone else from taking it.
