A domain for your restaurant or café
Yes, a restaurant or café gains from owning its web address. One domain can point to your menu, your Google Business Profile and your WhatsApp chat, and you control it whichever delivery app you use. Pick a short name that matches your signboard, add an area only if people really say it as part of your name, and register it in the owner's own name.
Why a food business needs its own address
Most Pakistani restaurants live on Instagram, Facebook and delivery apps. That works, but you do not own those pages. Rules change, accounts get locked, and a person searching your name may land on a rival's listing.
A domain is an address you control. Print it on menus, bills, boxes and the shop sign. Point it to your menu page, your map listing or your WhatsApp chat. Staff only need to remember one thing.
You do not need a big website. One clear page with your menu, hours, address and an order button does the job for most cafés. The domain simply gives that page a name people can type or say aloud.
Naming: signboard first, area second
Start with the name painted on your shop. People who have eaten with you will search for that, so match it as closely as you can. Keep it short and easy to spell over a phone call or a noisy counter.
Add an area or city only when it helps. If you run two branches, or your name is common, a name plus Lahore or DHA can set you apart. If you have one outlet with an unusual name, the plain name is cleaner.
Avoid piling words like food, restaurant and city into one name. It reads badly and is hard to dictate. For starting points, see /ideas/ and /domain-name-ideas-pakistan/, and check spelling rules at /domain-name-rules/.
- Say it aloud twice. If a friend mistypes it, simplify.
- Avoid hyphens and doubled letters.
- Check the matching social handle before you decide.
Choosing .pk, .com.pk or .com
For an eatery serving one city, a Pakistani extension tells customers you are local. A .com is familiar to everyone and suits you if you plan to ship frozen food or sell to people abroad.
With .pk and .com.pk, PKNIC fixes the registrant name at registration, so decide who owns the business before you apply. The minimum term is two years. PKNIC's fee is Rs 2,100 per year for Pakistan-based registrants from 1 August 2026, and USD 15.99 per year for overseas ones.
If you are unsure, compare them at /pk-vs-com-pk-vs-com/. Read about each at /pk-domain/, /com-pk-domain/ and /com-domain/, and search any extension at /domains/. If someone already holds the name you want, look at /#browse in our marketplace.
What to put on the site
Keep it simple and put the useful things first. A hungry customer on a phone wants answers in seconds.
Write your menu as real text, not only a photo of a printed card. Text is easy to read on a small screen and easy to update when prices change. Note the date you last changed prices.
Use the same name, address and phone number here as on your Google listing, so customers see one consistent business. Add a map link and a few clear photos of your food and your front door.
- Menu with prices, as text
- Opening hours, including Ramzan or holiday changes
- Full address, nearby landmark and a map link
- Phone number and a WhatsApp order button
- Delivery areas and any minimum order
Google Business Profile and your website
A Google Business Profile is the listing that appears on maps and local searches. Add your website address to it so customers can tap through to your menu.
Google says you cannot ask for, or pay for, a better local ranking. It describes three things behind local results: how well your listing matches the search, how near you are to the searcher, and how well known you are. So spend your effort on complete, accurate details and honest reviews.
For the profile name, Google asks for the real name you use on your signboard and website. Leave out slogans, opening hours, phone numbers, web addresses and place descriptions. The area belongs in the address section, not the name.
Keep hours current, especially around Eid and Ramzan. Wrong timings annoy customers more than a missing page does.
A WhatsApp ordering link and getting started
Many customers would rather message than fill a form. WhatsApp offers click-to-chat links that open a chat with your number. Follow WhatsApp's own help page for the exact link format, put the link behind an Order on WhatsApp button, and test it on your own phone before printing it anywhere.
Tell customers what to send: items, address and preferred time. Answer from a business number that will not change when staff do.
When you are ready, search your name at /domains/ and order at /order/. We check availability live and register the name in your own name through PKNIC or a registrar. Our prices are on /pricing/. We aim to file the same working day payment arrives, and unpaid orders cancel after 48 hours. You get a full refund if the name is taken before we file.
Common questions
Do I need a website if I already have Instagram and a delivery app?
It is worth having one. A domain registered in your name is an address you control, and it gives customers one place to find your menu, hours and order button.
Should I put my city or area in the domain name?
Only if it is part of how people say your name, or you need to separate yourself from similarly named places. A short plain name is usually easier to remember and type.
Can the domain be in my name rather than my cousin's or the agency's?
Yes, and it should be. We register new domains in the customer's own name. For .pk and .com.pk, the registrant name is fixed at registration, so decide the owner first.
How do I pay SastiDomains?
You pay in rupees by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa. Sales are handled on WhatsApp.
What if the name I want is taken?
If it is taken before we file your order, you get a full refund. You can also look for the name in our marketplace at /#browse or try other ideas at /ideas/.
