Namecheap in Pakistan: prices, payment and .pk

Namecheap bills in US dollars and does not sell .pk domains: a search for a .pk name on 26 October 2026 returned no .pk result. Its price list that day showed a .com at $11.28 as a first-year sale, and a new-customer code at $6.48, with the renewal price shown at checkout. It takes major cards and PayPal, and Pakistani card payments abroad can attract advance tax under section 236Y, so ask your bank what it deducts.

What Namecheap's site showed on 26 October 2026

We opened namecheap.com in an ordinary browser on 26 October 2026. Its domain price list showed a .com at $11.28 for the first year as a 25% sale, with a higher regular price beside it, and a banner offering new customers a .com for $6.48 with a code. The renewal price appears at checkout, so check it before you pay.

Searching for a .pk name on Namecheap returned no .pk result; the page offered the .com version instead. If you want a .pk or .com.pk, you need PKNIC or a seller that registers through it, such as us. Prices on Namecheap are in US dollars, so the rupee cost moves with the exchange rate and any bank charges.

Namecheap domain price in Pakistan: what we could confirm

We will not guess a number. Prices on registrar sites change, and many show a low first-year offer followed by a higher renewal. The only reliable figure is the one shown at checkout on the day you buy.

Our advice is simple. Open the Namecheap page yourself, search the exact name, and note two numbers: the first-year price and the renewal price. Also note the currency shown. Then compare the renewal, not just the first year, because you pay the renewal every year after that.

How a Pakistani customer pays Namecheap

Namecheap's help page on domain payments, read on 26 October 2026, lists Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB and UnionPay cards, plus PayPal. Cryptocurrency is also accepted, but it must first be deposited into your account funds, and those funds then pay for the domain. The same help material gives a USD 5.00 minimum when adding funds by card or PayPal and USD 1.00 for cryptocurrency.

The currency menu on that help page offered US dollars, euros, pounds, Canadian and Australian dollars, Indian rupees and Chinese yuan. Pakistani rupees were not on the list. Your bank will convert the charge and show the final amount in rupees on your statement, with its own exchange rate.

You need a card that your bank has enabled for online payments abroad. Many Pakistani debit cards are switched off for foreign use by default, so call your bank or use its app before you try. A failed payment at checkout is often a card setting rather than a registrar issue.

Advance tax on foreign card payments

When a Pakistani bank card is used to pay a foreign website, section 236Y of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 can apply. It asks the bank to collect advance tax on money sent abroad by credit, debit or prepaid card. The provision states that this advance tax is adjustable, which means it can be set against your final tax liability.

We do not state a rate here. The rate has been changed more than once since the section was introduced, has differed in past years for people on and off the Active Taxpayers List, and reports suggest it was revised again in 2026. Ask your bank what it will deduct today, or check the current First Schedule of the Ordinance.

This matters for the real cost. A dollar price at checkout is not the whole bill if the bank adds tax and its own exchange rate. If you plan to renew every year, add that extra amount to your yearly estimate. A business that files returns may be able to adjust the tax, so ask your accountant. See also our guide “What a domain costs to renew, and why year two can cost more” for how renewals work.

Is .pk offered at Namecheap?

We could not open Namecheap's search results for example.pk on 26 October 2026, so we cannot confirm from Namecheap itself whether .pk is sold there or at what price. Some third-party sites say it is, but we do not treat that as confirmed. Check it yourself by searching a .pk name on their site.

What we can say is how .pk works. PKNIC runs the .pk registry. It fixes the registrant name at registration, so the name on the record is the name you gave on day one. Names directly under .pk need at least four characters. PKNIC charges Rs 2,100 per year for Pakistan-based registrants from 1 August 2026, billed two years at a time, and USD 15.99 per year from outside Pakistan.

If you want to understand who does what, read our guide “What is PKNIC? How the .pk registry works” and our guide “Registry, registrar and reseller: who owns your domain?”. Namecheap vs GoDaddy for Pakistani buyers

Both are large foreign registrars, and both bill internationally. The practical points for a Pakistani buyer are the same for each: check the renewal price, check the currency shown, confirm that your card works abroad, and keep the login email safe.

We did not compare their prices today because we have no verified page figures for either. Please do not rely on a price table from a blog, including ours, without a date and a source. Open both checkout pages on the same day with the same name and read the total.

Also compare what you need beyond the name: email, hosting, support hours and how you reach someone when a payment fails. If GoDaddy is your other option, we have a short page at our guide “GoDaddy domain price in Pakistan: what its site showed in October 2026”.
