Where to buy a domain in Pakistan

Where to buy a domain in Pakistan depends on the extension and how you want to pay. You can buy .pk names from PKNIC itself or from a local partner or reseller that takes rupees. For .com you can use a global registrar or a hosting company that bundles domains. Choose using the checklist below, not the headline price.

The four places people buy from

Where to buy a domain in Pakistan is really four separate choices. Each one suits a different need.

If you are new, read our guide “What is a domain name?” and our guide “Registry, registrar and reseller: who owns your domain?” first. They explain who does what behind a domain.

  • PKNIC itself: the registry for .pk names.
  • PKNIC channel partners and resellers: local companies that file .pk names for you.
  • Global registrars: mainly for .com and other international extensions.
  • Hosting companies: they sell a domain next to a hosting plan.

Buying a .pk domain directly from PKNIC

PKNIC runs the .pk registry. Its homepage says you can buy a name there yourself or go through one of its listed partners and resellers.

From 1 August 2026 the fee for a registrant based in Pakistan is Rs 2,100 per year, up from Rs 1,800. It is billed two years at a time, and you can pay for up to ten years. Registrants or registrars outside Pakistan pay USD 15.99 per year.

PKNIC also offers prepaid cards. Its How to Pay page lists the payment methods it accepts, so check there before you start. See our guide “What is PKNIC? How the .pk registry works” and our guide “How to register a .pk domain (PKNIC rules explained)” for the steps and our guide “How much does a .pk domain cost in Pakistan?” for current fees.

PKNIC partners and resellers

PKNIC publishes a list of channel partners and resellers, sorted into tiers such as Gold, Silver and Bronze. PKNIC states that it has no ownership stake or partnership in these companies, so each one runs its own business.

The big plus is rupee payment. You may be able to pay by bank transfer or a mobile wallet instead of using a card. The downside is that service quality varies, so put every seller through the checklist.

PKNIC also lists Shared Registry System members. It says plainly that these members are not authorized dealers and do not represent it. Do not treat that list as a list of approved sellers. the .pk page and the .com.pk page cover the .pk family.

Global registrars and hosting bundles

For .com, many buyers use a global registrar. ICANN publishes a list of accredited registrars, so you can check whether a company is on it. You usually pay by card in US dollars, and your bank may add tax or conversion charges.

The .com wholesale fee is set by the registry, Verisign. It goes up to USD 10.97 on 1 November 2026, and registrars may pass that on in their renewal prices. Read the .com page and our guide “What a domain costs to renew, and why year two can cost more”.

Hosting companies often add a domain to a hosting plan. That is handy, but the domain should still be in your name and you should be able to move it. our guide “Domain vs hosting: what is the difference?” explains why these are two separate things.

A checklist for choosing

Ask every seller the same six questions, whatever the extension. If an answer is vague, ask again in writing before you pay.

  • Registrant: will the domain be in your name, not the seller's? For .pk, PKNIC fixes the registrant name at registration, so get it right the first time.
  • Renewal price: is it shown before you pay, not just the first-year offer?
  • Transfer-out: can you leave later? Ask how you get the auth code. See our guide “What is a domain auth code (EPP code)?” and our guide “Why you cannot transfer a new domain for 60 days”.
  • Payment: can you pay in a way that suits you, such as rupees by bank transfer or Raast?
  • Support: is there a real contact channel, such as WhatsApp or email, where someone replies?
  • Refund: what happens if the name is taken before the order is filed?

Red flags to avoid

A lot of domain trouble starts when the seller keeps control of the name. See our guide “Common domain scams in Pakistan and how to avoid them” for common patterns.

Walk away if you see any of these signs.

  • The domain will be registered in the seller's or developer's name.
  • The renewal price is hidden or only shared after payment.
  • No clear answer on how to move the domain out later.
  • Pressure to pay fast into a personal account.
  • Offers that sound too good, with nothing in writing.
  • No way to reach anyone once you have paid.

Where SastiDomains fits

We are a small Pakistani company with two services. One is a marketplace where owners sell domains they already hold, with payment kept in escrow. The other registers new domains in the customer's own name through PKNIC or a registrar, after a live availability check.

We take rupees by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa. Sales happen on WhatsApp. We aim to file on the same working day your payment arrives. Unpaid orders cancel after 48 hours, and you get a full refund if the name is taken before we file.

We do not sell hosting, PKNIC prepaid cards or Google Workspace, and we are not PKNIC. We are one option to weigh against the checklist, and other sellers may suit you too. See the domain search, the price list, the order form and the marketplace.

To compare what sellers charge, see our guide “Domain price in Pakistan (2026): what you really pay”.

Common questions

Which is the right place to buy a domain in Pakistan?

There is no single answer. It depends on the extension you want and how you plan to pay. Pick a seller that passes the checklist: your name as registrant, a renewal price shown up front, a clear way to transfer out, a payment method that works for you, real support and a clear refund rule.

Which domain registrar in Pakistan should I use for .pk?

Buy from PKNIC directly or from a company on PKNIC's channel partner and reseller list. Ask each one the checklist questions. See our guide “How to register a .pk domain (PKNIC rules explained)” for the steps.

What is a .pk domain provider or PK domain reseller?

It is a company that files .pk names with PKNIC for you and usually takes rupees. PKNIC says it has no ownership stake in these companies, so check each one yourself.

Is a PKNIC reseller the same as PKNIC?

No. PKNIC is the registry. Partners and resellers are separate businesses. PKNIC also says its Shared Registry System members are not authorized dealers. See our guide “Registry, registrar and reseller: who owns your domain?”.

Can I buy a domain in Pakistan without a credit card?

Often yes. Many local resellers, and services like ours, take rupees by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa. See our guide “How to buy a domain in Pakistan with JazzCash, Easypaisa, Raast or bank transfer”.

Can I move my domain to another seller later?

You should be able to. Ask how to get the auth code and check the lock rules first. See our guide “What is a domain auth code (EPP code)?”, our guide “.pk domain transfer, step by step” and the transfer page.

How much does a .pk domain cost?

PKNIC charges Rs 2,100 per year for Pakistan-based registrants from 1 August 2026, billed two years at a time. Resellers set their own prices on top. See our guide “How much does a .pk domain cost in Pakistan?” and the price list.
