Domain registration in Karachi is an online job

Domain registration in Karachi works the same as anywhere else in Pakistan. You do not walk into an office. Everything happens online.

We should be honest here. SastiDomains has no office in Karachi. We work online, and we speak to customers on WhatsApp. We are also not PKNIC, the registry that runs .pk.

What we do is simple. We check availability live and register the domain in your own name, through PKNIC or an accredited registrar. You can do this from your shop, your home or your phone.

PKNIC itself has only one office, and it is in Lahore. So nobody in Karachi needs to travel to get a .pk name. The process is the same for a trader in Saddar and a startup in Clifton.

Who in Karachi needs a domain

Karachi is a large port city and a big commercial centre. Many kinds of businesses there can use a domain.

A domain gives you a web address, and a business email on your own name. Many customers see that as more professional than a free email address.

• Importers, exporters and shipping or clearing agents who deal with overseas buyers.
• Textile, garment and leather sellers who want a catalogue site.
• Traders and wholesalers, including those in Saddar, Jodia Bazaar and Bolton Market.
• Restaurants, bakeries and cloud kitchens that want orders and a Google listing.
• Clinics, dentists, tutors and academies looking for local patients and students.
• Property dealers, movers, rent-a-car firms and solar installers.
• Freelancers and IT or software companies selling to clients abroad.

.pk, .com.pk or .com for a Karachi business

Pick the extension by who you want to reach.

A .pk name tells people you are Pakistani. It is short and easy to say on a call. Names directly under .pk need at least four characters, not counting the .pk part. Read more on the .pk page.

A .com.pk name is open to businesses and to individuals in Pakistan. It is sometimes still free when the same .pk name is gone. See the .com.pk page.

There is no single right answer. A local clinic can do well with .pk. An exporter may want .com as well, and can hold both.

Karachi city-name domains: what we checked

Many owners want the city in the name, like karachi plus their trade. We checked 20 common combinations against the registry on 21 October 2026. Here are some of the results.

These .pk names were already taken: karachiproperties.pk, karachimovers.pk, karachijobs.pk and karachimart.pk.

These .com.pk names were taken: karachimovers.com.pk and karachirentacar.com.pk.

These were still free on that date: karachiproperties.com.pk, karachimotors.pk, karachitutors.pk, karachiclinic.pk, karachisolar.pk, karachibakery.pk, karachidentist.pk and karachimarble.pk.

Anyone can register a free name at any time. This list is a snapshot, not a promise. A free name today may be gone tomorrow, so check again before you order.

What the Karachi results tell you

The pattern is clear. Short city-plus-trade names in .pk go fast, especially for busy trades such as property, movers and jobs.

If your first choice is taken, you have options. You can try the same name in .com.pk, as the property example shows. You can add a word, a neighbourhood name, or your own brand.

A brand name often works better than a city name. It is easier to remember, and it does not tie you to one place if you open a branch in another city.

Be careful with trademarks. A free name is not always safe to use if it copies another firm's brand.

Steps to register from Karachi

The steps are short. You can do them in one sitting.

Fees to know about: from 1 August 2026, PKNIC charges Rs 2,100 per year for registrants based in Pakistan. It was Rs 1,800 before. PKNIC bills two years at a time, and you can pay for up to ten years. Our own prices are on the price list.

• Search your name on the domain search and see if it is free right now.
• Place your order on the order form with your details.

• We aim to file on the same working day your payment arrives.
• Unpaid orders cancel after 48 hours. If the name is taken before we file, you get a full refund.

Registrant name rules you must get right

PKNIC fixes the registrant name when the domain is registered. Whoever is named at that moment is the owner on record.

So decide the owner before you pay. Use your real name, or your company's legal name if the domain is for a business. We register in the customer's own name, not ours.
