SSL certificate price in Pakistan (and when it costs nothing)

The SSL certificate price in Pakistan is often Rs 0 for a normal website, because Let's Encrypt does not charge for its certificates and many hosts and website builders switch HTTPS on for you. A paid certificate (OV, EV or wildcard) is only needed for special cases, and one public guide lists those at roughly USD 30 to USD 420 per year. We do not sell SSL on its own; plans that include hosting get HTTPS through the host.

What SSL actually does

The SSL certificate price in Pakistan only makes sense once you know what you are buying. SSL, now properly called TLS, locks the connection between a visitor's browser and your website. Nobody on the way can read or change what is sent.

People still say SSL, so we do too. A certificate is a small file that proves your domain is the one the visitor reached. Browsers then show a padlock and the address starts with https.

Without it, browsers warn visitors that the site is not secure. Contact forms, logins and payment pages become risky. If you are new to domains, start with our guide “What is a domain name?” and then our guide “Domain vs hosting: what is the difference?” to see where the certificate lives.

Why most certificates cost nothing

Let's Encrypt is run by a nonprofit called ISRG. Its own site says anyone who owns a domain name can get a trusted certificate at zero cost, and its FAQ says it does not charge a fee for certificates.

That is why most hosts and website builders include HTTPS in the plan. You do not shop for a certificate. The host asks for one and renews it automatically.

Let's Encrypt certificates last 90 days by default and renew on a schedule, so this should happen without you. Its FAQ also notes that some hosting providers may charge a small fee for their own admin work. So always read the plan, not just the certificate name.

These certificates only confirm that you control the domain. For a shop, blog, company site or portfolio, that is normally enough. Our fuller explainer is on our guide “Free SSL certificates for your domain explained”.

How a host includes it: Hostinger as an example

Hostinger's help pages say its Web, Cloud and Agency hosting plans include an SSL certificate for your domains and subdomains. They say it installs as soon as a domain is added to the plan, and that the domain must be pointing to Hostinger before a manual install. It then renews while the site stays hosted there.

If it does not appear, open the site's Dashboard, then Security, then SSL, and click Install SSL. Hostinger has a separate guide on turning HTTPS on so that visitors land on the secure version.

Their pages also say VPS plans are different: you install a certificate yourself there, and wildcard certificates are supported only on VPS. So check your plan type. Hostinger says its included certificates cannot be downloaded or moved to another host.

Our Rs 3,000 starter bundle (see the offer page) includes a .com, one year of Hostinger hosting and one business email. HTTPS comes through Hostinger. We are not Hostinger, and plan details can change, so confirm on their pages.

When a paid certificate is worth it

A paid certificate does not encrypt better. The lock is the same strength. You pay for extra checking, support, or coverage.

OV (organisation validated) means the certificate authority checks your registered business. EV (extended validation) checks more deeply. Some banks, large companies, or buyer contracts ask for one. A wildcard covers a domain and all its first-level subdomains, such as shop.yourbrand.com and mail.yourbrand.com. Let's Encrypt does offer wildcards, but it says it has no plans to issue OV or EV.

Pay only if a client, auditor or insurer asks, or if you run many subdomains and want vendor support. A small business site rarely needs it. If unsure, ask us on WhatsApp before you spend. Typical paid ranges, with a date

We do not sell certificates, so these are public figures, not our prices. An SSLInsights guide, which says it was last reviewed in October 2026, lists these yearly ranges in US dollars: paid single-domain DV from about USD 7, OV about USD 30 to USD 200, EV about USD 75 to USD 400, and wildcard certificates from about USD 80.

The same page's table runs wider than its summary: OV up to USD 300, wildcard DV USD 79 to USD 200, and wildcard OV USD 100 to USD 420 a year. Treat all of this as a rough guide.

These are reseller and review-site numbers, not an official price list from any authority. Brand, support level and contract length change the price a lot. Convert to rupees at the day's rate and check current prices with the seller before paying. Anything priced at Rs 0 is usually Let's Encrypt behind the scenes.

How to check a site has HTTPS

Open the site and look at the address bar. It should start with https and show a padlock or similar icon. Click the icon to see who issued the certificate and when it ends.

Then type the address with http at the start. A well set up site sends you to https by itself. If it stays on http, or the browser shows a warning, HTTPS is not set up properly.

Common causes are a domain not pointed to the host, an expired certificate, or a page that still loads images over http. After you point your domain, see the DNS checker and our guide “How to change nameservers on a .pk domain” to confirm the records.

A padlock means the connection is private. It does not prove the business is honest. Before buying from a site, also read our guide “Common domain scams in Pakistan and how to avoid them”.

Getting HTTPS with SastiDomains

We are a small Pakistani company that works online. We register domains in your own name, run a marketplace with escrow, sell website packages and host business email on our own mail server. We do not sell SSL on its own.

Plans that include hosting get HTTPS through the host; ask us on WhatsApp to confirm for your plan. A .com is Rs 2,199 for the first year; renewal and other prices are on the price list. See the membership plans for plans with hosting and the website packages for sites built with Elementor Pro, from Rs 11,999.

You pay in rupees by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa. Ask us on WhatsApp if your site shows a warning. We will tell you if the cause is DNS, hosting, or something else. Common questions

SSL certificate price in Pakistan: how much does it cost?

For most websites in Pakistan it costs Rs 0, because Let's Encrypt does not charge for certificates and many hosts include HTTPS in their plans. Paid certificates are a separate product: an SSLInsights guide reviewed in October 2026 lists OV at about USD 30 to USD 200 a year, EV at about USD 75 to USD 400, and wildcards from about USD 80.

SSL certificate kya hai?

SSL certificate ek chhoti si file hoti hai jo browser aur website ke darmiyan connection ko encrypt karti hai. Isse address https se shuru hota hai aur padlock nazar aata hai. Aaj ka asli naam TLS hai, lekin log abhi bhi SSL kehte hain.

Can I get an SSL certificate in Pakistan at no cost?

Yes. Let's Encrypt, run by the nonprofit ISRG, says anyone who owns a domain can get a trusted certificate at zero cost. Many hosts, including Hostinger on its Web, Cloud and Agency plans, install one automatically. Some providers may charge for their own admin work, so read the plan.

Https kaise lagaye?

Sab se aasan tareeqa hai aisi hosting lena jo SSL shamil karti ho. Domain ko host par point karein, phir hosting panel mein SSL section kholen aur Install SSL dabayein. Hostinger ka panel site ke Dashboard mein Security, phir SSL mein yeh option deta hai. HTTPS on karne ki alag guide bhi Hostinger ke help pages par hai.

Does a paid SSL certificate make my website more secure?

Not in encryption strength. The lock works the same way. A paid OV or EV certificate adds checks on your organisation, plus support or warranty from the seller. Choose one only if a client, auditor or contract asks for it. Most small business sites are fine with a domain-validated certificate.

When do I need a wildcard SSL certificate?

You need a wildcard when you run many subdomains under one domain, such as shop.yourbrand.com and mail.yourbrand.com, and want one certificate for them. Let's Encrypt also issues wildcards, using DNS validation. If you have only one or two names, a normal certificate is simpler.

How can I check if a website has HTTPS?

Look for https at the start of the address and a padlock icon, then click the icon to see the certificate details and end date. Also try the http version of the address. A properly set up site redirects to https. A padlock shows the connection is private, not that the business is trustworthy.

Does SastiDomains sell SSL certificates?

No, we do not sell SSL on its own. Plans that include hosting get HTTPS through the host. Our Rs 3,000 starter bundle has a .com, one year of Hostinger hosting and one business email. Contact us on WhatsApp if you need help checking your site's HTTPS setup.

Do Let's Encrypt certificates expire?

Yes. Let's Encrypt certificates are valid for 90 days by default, and its FAQ recommends renewing them about every 60 days. There is also an opt-in six-day certificate. On a good host this renewal is automatic. If you see an expiry warning, the renewal has failed and your host should be contacted.
